Oligometastatische ziekte is een toestand met een beperkt aantal metastasen die potentieel lokaal behandelbaar zijn. SABR/SBRT van oligometastasen verbeterde de overleving in de SABR-COMET-studie. De PROSPECT- en STOMP-studies onderzochten metastasegerichte therapie bij prostaatcarcinoom. Het concept wordt steeds breder toegepast bij NSCLC, CRC en prostaatcarcinoom.
